Mrs. Sledge reopened her OFCCU account in 2010. "I came back to start a savings account because I knew that someday I was going to need a car, and the credit union has good loan rates. I was doing my research on used cars when my old car started needing too many repairs. I heard good things about the Ford Fusion, so I went to John Lance Ford. They were having a special, so I wound up with a new 2012 Ford Fusion instead of a used one.
"I called the credit union and talked to Lisa. This was my first loan in my name only, so I had a lot of questions. I kept calling with questions. Lisa was great to work with. She explained the process and was very nice every time I called. She even stayed after hours to finalize my loan. I told her what I wanted my payment to be, and she told me how much I needed to put down to get that payment. I'm a saver. I've been putting $10 per pay away every pay, along with the two extra paychecks I receive each year, so I was able to put cash down on the vehicle.
